Hola

I finally found a way to use Qsync:
- To sync across multiple PC's,
- To allow those files to be accessible on the network via explorer (without Qsync or File Station)
- To backup those files in a way that is protected against sync errors. There is a function in Qsync that does this, but I once removed Qsync from a PC and lost a lot of data, so I don't fully trust it. To skip this step though, skip 3c below.
1. Setup Qsync as normal. Note the username used to login to Qsync.
2. Setup RTRR server on QNAP. See
http://unofficialqnapsupport.net/?page_id=4733 or viewtopic.php?t=69086.
3. In Backup Manager, under RTRR, setup a new job and backup pairing of folders, with a schedule that suits you. This will duplicate all of Qsync's files, or any subfolders you select in step 2 below.
A - Point the source folder to Qsync\Homes\<username_used_to_login_to_Qsync>\.qsync\
B - Point the target folder to a new location on the QNAP or to external USB drive in a new folder. I used an external drive in folder <username_used_to_login_to_Qsync> as the name. Let's call it 'G:\Shanghai\'.
C - (to additionally protect against accidental file deletions files on one PC, wiping out that file on all PC's and the server), under "policy", be sure "Delete Extra files" is deselected. You can't use a "real time" schedule, and deselect "Delete Extra files" so choose a scheduled backup time. Be aware that if you make frequent file or directory deletions or changes, this can result in a lot of messy duplicates, but if not, this is a sweet safeguard.
3. Run the new backup RTRR job, and your files will be duplicated from Qsync into the new shared folder.
Now, you can browse to your new shared 'G:\Shanghai\' from any device on my LAN and access all the files!
