Hola
Por todo lo que cuentas,creo que sea problema de tu red.

Yo probaría lo siguiente, desinstalar download station y echar una ojeada por la estructura de carpetas (vía consola o similares) y revisar a ver si quedan restos de la aplicación. Yo miraría en /share/xxxxx_DATA/.qpkg/
Lo cierto es que es algo raro.
