Me autorespondo por si alguien tiene el mismo problema:
Bajo Quts hero y zfs, no se pueden modificar la ruta de las carpetas compartidas, la mejor opción es regresar a qts como me dispongo a realizar y olvidar de moemnto quts hero y zfs..

I have a TVS-h1288x running QuTS Hero and am having problems sharing a folder.
On the standard release of the OS (non-Hero ver) you could manually enter the shared folder path. This meant that I could easily share folders withing applications (for instance the NZBGet download folder). In QuTS Hero you cannot manually set the folder path.
It appears that if want to the underling path for a shared folder I will need to manually edit the "smb.conf" file which does not seem like a good idea.
Any thoughts, suggestions?
QNAP responded to my ticket and said that it is not possible to manually set shared folder paths. I asked about modifying the smb.conf file and was told that that would not work because of the way ZFS file systems work.
